A Year in My Instagram Photos

When I worked at the Target Photo Studio, I made a story with the apples.

We had really creepy weather.

I started writing a fictional story about a high school crush and myself, while at work. (Up to 13 pages!)

I went to the Philadelphia Zoo and saw my faves <3.

I went to a Phillies Game with some friends and broke my streak. (Everytime I went to a game they won, sadly it ended that day.)

I was silly with my friend Morgan, who is sadly away from me and studying in Scotland now. The bitch.

I got a new tattoo. It’s a Native American symbol for butterfly which means “Everlasting Life”.

Trax is still the laziest cat ever!

I went to the Corn Palace again!

I also got to see the Badlands and buffalo in South Dakota again!

I saw my cousin get married in this beautiful place in Sioux City, IA.

I got to visit The Windy City (Chicago) again, and I’m still in love with it!

My boyfriend got to see some new places with me and was the modern day explorer.

Hurricane Sandy left us with a lot of broken branches and no power for 4 days. Not. FUN.

Moved into a new place and had quite a bit of nice snow fall this winter.

And I celebrated Christmas with a new addition to the tree with my awesome camera ornament.

Not a bad year at all. Here’s hoping more trips and memories are captured.

PHILLIES!! Let’s Go For a Repeat!

There’s nothing like coming into your house, and you instantly know that your dad has the game on. And its the top of the 9th and the Phillies only need 3 more outs to clench the National League title. 3 more outs that are between the Phillies and the World Series! phillies-win-world-series2 I’m not even fazed by the crowds reaction. I can barely hear the announcer on the tv, that the crowd is so loud. Man I love Philly. We are an awesome city. We are the Phillies’ strength. It is because of our hope and love for our team that gives the players the renewed energy to face those Dodgers (most of whom look like they belong in prison or at least a shower! *cough Manny Ramirez cough*). They feed off the energy we give them. There’s nothing more satisfying than screaming yourself hoarse “3 MORE OUTS LIDGE!” “OK, 2 MORE!!” “HOLY SHIT, 1 MORE OUT LIDGY!!! YOU CAN DO IT!!” My dad probably thinks I’m a psychotic fan, my mother just does not understand my love for baseball and football. But WHO cares?! When Victorino, our lovely Flyin’ Hawaiian, caught that fly ball, all of Philadelphia ran out of the bars/homes/cars/etc. in celebration. I was fist pumping the air, screaming “PHILLIES ARE GOING TO THE WORLD SERIES!!!” It’s times like this that I wish I lived IN the city, you can just bet that my ass would be running to City Hall or at the bars with my other Phillies fans in complete jubilation!

But sadly, I’m at home. With my tv, my cellphone, and my beer. Cheaper, but still a celebration with all the elements in place.

This day was definately up there among the top ones. Talking with cute man at work to THIS! Next stop… WORLD SERIES REPEAT!!  In the words of Harry Kalas, “I’ve got hiiiiiighhh hopes! Hiiiiiighhh hopes!”

Quotes Keep Me Sane

“I just love photographing. I don’t do it for anyone else.” ~ Kim Weston

You know what I love doing? I love just browsing web pages of quotes about love, happiness, heartbreak, photography, art, and music and if I find a quote that particularly appeals to me, I write it down in this book I have so I can look back and remember the stages of emotion I was in the day I put the quote in. For example, if I was in a particularly sour mood about love and men, I’d look for the most heart-wrenching and depressing quotes out there and put them in my book. But something could happen to me in a span of a week where everything changes and I get happy and I find quotes about success and about my careers or passions, and I put them in.

Well I came across my book today, and I didn’t add any persay, but I have been feeling particularly lonely lately, and love free (ok, maybe I have a girlish crush on this guy at work who is only 1 year older, but he’s one of those guys you don’t know is gay or not. I’ve completely LOST my gaydar since coming to Arcadia). But no one really worthy of liking or dreaming about (except for Mr. Rob Pattinson of course!) which is unusual for me. Never really NOT liked anyone before. I get bored easily.

“It’s like my mind knows whats right but my heart is being retarded and still cares.” ~ Unknown

On a completely different note (as usual), thesis is coming together quite nicely, I have about 15 prints done so far, I have 1 roll of film alliestickto develop and I have roughly 2 rolls to take this week for thesis. So progress is definately being made! Digital Darkroom is going. I have my first crit for that class tomorrow (well, actually this afternoon, seeing as how its after midnight now). Still need to shoot a roll of color film with the Holga and get it developed for Thursday. Oh endless due dates. How I loathe you. Not condusive to an artist. Not one bit. However French…. ohhhh my French class is quite the interesting one. Not so good. Got my first test back. Not gonna lie, didn’t do exactly well. Shouldn’t have waited 2 years to take it up again. Forgot most of it. I used to be so good at the verbs!

Alrighty, I’ve rambled on quite long enough, I should get back to attempting to finish this book Love Walked In by Marisa de los Santos. Quite good. Based in Philly, sarcasm that is closely related to my own. Need I ask for more?
